Most of the trouble diesel mechanics run into when installing a 7.3 powerstroke engine, especially long blocks, are all the possibilities of one thing going wrong and spending an entire day pulling the engine out again. There’s a lot of parts-and-pieces on these engines and all it takes is one part failure to double your expense. That’s why we sell this engine complete ready to drop-in and dyno tested it for 1 hour to make sure you have a sound investment. This is our strongest selling point because we are one the very few that do this for OE factory replacement engines.
QUALITY NAME BRAND PARTS
The aftermarket industry doesn’t seem to put the right metals in the aftermarket pistons which causes burned or damaged pistons in a short period of time. This is a common issue from most engine manufactures except for those who use OE pistons for this particular complete 7.3 powerstroke engine. We use an OE Mahle pistons and rings. They cost more money upfront but will last much longer without problems. We’ve also discovered similar patterns in aftermarket bearings, camshafts, lifters, glow plugs, oil coolers, and this is why we use new OE interals parts.
We remanufacture the 7.3 Ford Diesel block and heads thoroughly and here is our process. Firstly the 7.3 powerstroke engine cylinder heads can sometimes be problematic. Not here! Cylinder heads are pressure tested and have new Ford valves, seats, springs, injector sleeves, and are machined to set valve recession and stem height so you’re protected all the way around. The blocks are blast with steel shot, power brushed each oil gallery and cylinder, electro particle inspection for cracks, precision grind head gasket for mating surface, tap and clean bolt holes, bore all cylinders, check deck height, precsision hone all connecting rods, rods are verified for twist and bend, clean and shot blast all crankshaft journals… it’s the most thorough process in the industry for a remanufactured 7.3 powerstroke engine.
NEW BOSCH INJECTORS
A set of remanufactured injectors can cost around $800 to $1,600 online and are half the price of a brand-new set of BOSCH injectors. Do not take the bait on price with injectors! This is the most common mistake in the diesel world because it’s easy to look at it as if you are going to save $1,000 bucks. We are warning you: aftermarket and remanufactured injectors are cheaply made and inconsistent. A defected injector will detonate a piston within 100 miles and wipe out your entire investment in minutes. Therefore we install new BOSCH injectors every time with this engine because anything less is problematic.
