A factory-replacement 5.3 crate engine come factory with 315-345 horsepower. Down the road, many consumers install a performance cam to gain an additional 30-40 HP. But you lose your warranty! Also, most performance crate engines out on the market with a cam require tuning, injectors changes, and is not smog compliant. Core charge/deposit is $400.00 to $750 depending on the VIN number on top of the engine price. If you’re local within the Washington state area where our plant is you’re eligible for a core exchange.

  • Core instructions will be emailed to you after purchase

  • Yes, you may keep your core! Most customers do and just pay the core fee upfront.
