OVERVIEW

Our main target audience are daily drivers that never intend to go to the track but when they step on it they want something fun and sound amazing.  Senior to the performance, they want quality and reliability; that’s where we come in.  Hot rodders buy at West Coast Engines because they know they’ll get more help and a better value for their money spent in terms of service, quality parts, and completeness of the engine for an easy install. We designed this engine back in 2013 and it is by FAR the best selling, not only in the USA but internationally. We have sold over 600 “West Coast Special” 383 strokers to date.

ENGINE SPECS

Starting on the top-end we have aluminum heads that are 205cc runners/64cc chambers and are made by Racing Power Company. The lopey sounding cam is a hydraulic roller made by Trick-Flow Specialties (which is a brand of COMP Cams) and is part number 31403001. Elgin Industries self-adjusting steel roller rockers, ARP studs, Elgin performance springs, and 2.02/1.60 valve size.

The bottom-end has a Scat 9000 steel crankshaft rated up to 500 HP, GM forged rods, Pioneer rod bolts, and a Federal Mogul hypereutectic piston with a moly ring. 

Every engine is machined, balanced, and blueprinted at our factory to ensure it meets our high standards. With our diamond honing and precision work, these engines will run up to 500,000 miles. We know because our customers have done so.

WHY ALUMINUM HEADS?

Aluminum heads are more durable and lighter than generic cast iron heads (also known as ‘steel’ heads).  Aluminum heads last longer because it’s a more durable material made with the latest technology in precision machining and cast molding.  This allows the engine to run cooler, tougher heads that produce more power!

Our build time is generally 1 month and we require 50% down. When purchasing an engine online or even in the retail world, it comes as-is with no options. It will be painted black with one style of oil pan, no flywheel, no gaskets, generic intake manifold, generic carburetor, and a warranty that has so much fine print it’s essentially not a warranty whatsoever.

Here at West Coast Engines your engine is fully customized and built-to-order in just a few weeks.  This allows us to accommodate the right oil pan, flywheel, engine color, intake manifold, smog equipment, or anything else that may be important to you! We can also customize the packages if you already have a carburetor or an ignition system and simply deduct it from your order. That way when the engine arrives it’s a QUALITY product that LOOKS, SOUNDS, and PERFORMS the way you want it, making every dollar spent worth the investment.

Can you ship to my house?

Absolutely! We can ship right to your doorstep. The delivery driver will lower the engine from the truck with a liftgate and put it right in your garage with a pallet jack.

Do you ship internationally? 

We accept international sales but the shipping outside of the USA is handled by the customer.

Can I pick it up? 

For insurance purposes these engines must be delivered to you. These are big 500 lbs engines and we want a professional freight company to handle it with care to protect your investment.

We require 50% down to get an order started and collect the remaining balance when the engine is complete and ready to ship.

What is a core? A core is an old engine. It constists of the block, heads, crankshaft, and connecting rods.

Our nationwide warranty for the 383 Stroker Motor is a whopping 5 year and 50,000 miles. Why? Because we take pride in the engines we build knowing they are our best when they leave here. We use a common-sense and personable approach getting you back on the road as quickly as possible if anything were to happen.
